Hello Admins, Mods, Techies,

This topic is related to the torrents as well as its kind of a general info. I am really tired of seeding number of torrents over n' over again. As you can see in my account that I have seeded one particular torrent so many times and people who downloads the torrent doesn't seed back...so, i end up seeding the torrent all the time. My main concern is that can Admins put a system where people have to seed the torrent back no matter how much ratio they have so, it helps people like me to seed other torrents as well and not seeding one torrent for months. I just want the DCTORRENT STAFF to look into this problem more seriously and make this an IMPORTANT TASK note: THIS IS AN HUMBLE REQUEST TO ALL OF YOU. Also, to the DC members try to seed the torrent after downloading it and keep seeding till a week or 2 so, ppl doesn't end up seeding the same torrent 4eva. I hope you guys understand and I also hope i get positive reply to my post.

Spot on dude. There should be a thing like if you download a torrent than you have to seed for a minimum of 30-50% before you can seed anything else... along those line. However, i do like this idea.

I agree what has been said in first post...

but there are things which are good to have but cannot be enforced in real world... We tell everyone to upload atleast till ratio of 1.... but manytimes that is not done simply because of one reason or another...

and as far as i remember there was another thread with lots of replies from staff... i think that has been removed during cleanup of old threads...

Since, you all liked the idea then why don't we all go to Admins and request there. Moreover, we need to bring this topic to all of DC members attention and try finding the solution to the problem. Because I am really sick of seeding same torrent over n' over. Before I end the post, I just want to say that from now on..the torrents that I have seeded over n' over again...I won't be seeding them anymore because people who downloaded that torrennt recently doesn't seed back since, it's there responsibility to seed the torrents back. However, I will be seeding new torrents and keep that torrent alive as possible but people who downloads the torrent from me..needs to seed back. I hope the solution comes fast and hope admins participate in this topic. HUMBLE REQUEST TO ADMINS, MODS, TECHIES and DC STAFF.

Doubt it highly that admin will do anything regarding this matter as this issue was brought up in the past and is currently too hard to implement. However, i'm with you all the way, i'm also sick of torrents becoming dead because no one can be bothered to seed them.

Admins have to do something about it if they want to keep this site open and make it better for people and good seeders like us. If admins do not want to do anything about it then the best idea i can think of is to make the RESEED request off for people who already have seeded that torrent number of times for months or not to ask us to seed it more. It seems that people are not interested in the topic and I am not seeing much response to this topic; very disappointed. I am guessing that I and few other members only seem to be bothering n' tired of seeding and others seeders keep wanting to seed the one perticular torrent for years. HUMBLY REQUESTING SEEDERS TO COME FORWARD and express your opinion. VERY DISAPPOINTED ON THE RESPONSE.

i agree with u, but its not that easy to force some one to seed...can u think of anyway to tackle this problem... mate is easy to say do something, but hard to do it.
tht ressed request is optional and if u dont want to seed thts alright.. also if u go to threads jst below the torrent file the is something called "Hall of Shame" pm those people and tell them to help u seed tht torrent.

Not everything is easy to implement... Admins can enforce ratio rules on overall site ratio ., but implementing the same per torrent is too much to ask... ppl will just leave the site.. I know I will...

let us consider an example, lets say I download a movie (not much in demand so no other leechers) so after downloading , how will i maintain its ratio... it is not possible / feasible...

It is demand and supply world... if there is demand (# of leechers) of particular stuff then there will be supply (# of seeders)... if there is not any demand, then why will someone seed it... on the other side... many many ppl download stuff and delete it after watching to free up some disk... (I fall in that catagory).. so cant even seed if someone comes back and request me to seed...

The reason why ratio rules are implemented on site is to encourage / force ppl to seed... if someone is smart .. ratio of 1 is not at all difficult to maintain... specially if music / tv torrents are free and public....

^^ Referring to RDA's supply and demand theory. I do know that stuff as well however, don't forget the supplier who you are referring to in your example. If that person wont seed that old torrent than it will become dead and you can't download that movie. Hence all the old torrents will become dead. Demand and supply works in the world and also to the majority in DC as well. However, demand in real world arises when there is a decrease in the price than the demand increases. In DC, demand also increases when we find out that there is an old torrent that i want (which may be a classic). Than who do we call, we call that one person who has been seeding for ages. That seeder eventually becomes bored of it and than he doesn't seed also. Therefore, the torrent becomes dead.

I know that ratio here on DC isn't hard to maintain like you said. This is in fact a serious issue, if this wont be dealt in some way than all the old torrents will become dead, now or later.

Don't take anything personally RDA, just sharing my opinion on how to improve DC.

I understand everything and I know you guys tried explaining and I do understand. I even researched the same topic that you guys had it discusion about it. I guess the main question is that did the Admins participated in that discussion or this discussion? I respect all of you and I know it is easy to say but why don't we get everybody's opinion and figure something about it. Or we could give all the members few option to choose from and go from there. If people are afraid of loosing people from this site than loosing those great old torrents and making them dead. If people doesn't want to stay in this site then its better to have less people so, this way Admins won't ahve much server cost. Seen, admins have to ask for donations in order to run the server and noone is donating; on top that members do not even seed the torrent. What is the point of having these many people in the site, if they don't want to seed or donate?? I really can't say that noone is donating because people are donating but about 10% i guess and having all sort of torrents problems? Basically, I am tired of hearing same old sentences saying tried explaning; we won't get the result if we keep saying that and we have to stop saying that and think about something creative. I only see same people expressing their opinions and there are over hundreads people viewing the topic but noone is botheing to say anything except TRIED EXPLAINING! GREAT! By the way I am not frustrated on this issue but trying to help this website to improve. Also, I aint forcing anybody but asking humbly to participate and express your opinion(Saying over and over).
