I know like a lot of people have good ratio and then once downloaded they just leave the torrent alone especially in music because its free
So why not let it be free and just make a system that upload the torrent minimum for 36 hours or until you have 1:1 ratio
It would be better for the site and people who dont have high downloading speeds.

Well thats a nice idea .....
but ppl who do not want to seed will find some other wayz of not seeding like capping the upload spped a 1kbps or something else ....
and IMO ,forcing ppl to seed for a paticular time period is not an ethical idea

Give and take Rule....see it goes like this....if u want something then give more....then only ratio can be maintained. Those people who do not want to seed after downloading must understand that others are also waiting for the same. come on guys...we are not kids...lets dont behave very silly. it should be our responsibility to seed what we have downloaded. i dont want to break my head in the technical side of it.what i request you all ....lets work like a team and encourage other uploaders so that better things can be posted in dc site. moreover all those will be for us only.let us not be very selfish ....
think twice before deleting the link...seed it as long as u want....u can increase your upload limit and others can download. so let us join hand together and work as a team.

i have been seedind and seeding and seeding. I downloaded a few movies and have kept the download speed to 1 and upload to max. My ratio is stuck. I am going to be banned in 10 days. I have stopped downloading. All dctorrents are on seed for >36 hours. What to do?

The 1:1 ratio. Once it reaches that ratio can you keep it going so that the 1:1 ratio increases to something like 1:2? Or does it automatically stop at 1:1? Because my Ratio is pretty crap and I'm trying to get it back on track because some of the stuff I previously downloaded I no longer have so I can't seed.



EDIT: I'm currently seeding some of my own un-released songs to see if it increase my ratio percentage.

good idea... but as Acc3ss said the person who does not want to seed will cap the speed
n 1:1 will not work as thr r no or very few leechers for old stuff n if someone downloads it he will have to wait for someone else to download it n if he wants to free his disk space...

One major problem is with old torrent there is almost nobody leeching only one or two. So we are at a lost. I think havin a number of hours needed to keep the torrent seeding is a good suggestion
