I downloaded Welcome movie. The passkey in that torrent is different from the passkey in all the other torrents. And because of this all the DL and UL didnt counted towards my total. Why DCT gave a different passkey?

If i manually change the passkey to mine, will the torrent work after the change?

This can happen only if

- You got the torrent file from someone (ie passkey of someone else got passed to you_ , so download and upload will be accounted to that person and it will show under that person's name..

- Someone else was logged into DCT when the *.torrent file was downloaded..

Easiest way to find this out is, while you are dn/uploading that file. Go to that original torrent page... and look under download / upload section of that torrent .. and find out if you find some familiar name there..

OR may be admins might be able to find out whose passkey you used...

As this is not good ... that other person whose passkey you got should be more careful... passing on of torrents and hence passkey is not allowed in DCT...

I am the only one who uses DCT here, and only my account keeps logged in 24x7.

I am sure I was logged in from my account, and I myself downloaded the torrent file.

Reset your passkey, you can do it from usercp.

ur isp caches the files, you must be from uae

I am from UAE. I tried downloading another torrent, and again this time another new passkey, so i stopped it. Now what is simple solution to it?

ok follow this

remove all the torrents u downloading from dc at the moment

login to ur account on dc and go to usercp

from there reset your passkey

then change your password.

now download torrents from dc again.

your torrent will show new passkey. copy passkey and paste in notepad

then download another torrent and check passkey in it and compare with the one u pasted.

if they same everything fine.

i think someone might have got access to your account. follow these simple troubleshooting steps and if problem persists then we will try helping u out as to how to tackle with caching problem.

I still get different passkey's in torrents. Is changing the passkey manually ok?

yaa you can change passkey manually it is ok but remember to chnage it before downloading but u shld contact any admin abt this problem

passkey is the thing which tracker requires you to identify you and it is included in the torrent file you download
