I am not using a cable modem... I have direct internet connection over ethernet with my ISP. I have the port forwarding and I have checked that I am getting incoming connection on the port utorrent is listenning on. The problem is not with utorrent alone. I tried Azureus and bittornado at later stage... The same problem.

I disabled the windows firewall and tried. I still get the same error. My ethernet card works fine. The problem I having is connecting to the tracker. Which is the biggest problem. I really dont understand why the tracker is closing the connection.

When forwarding from router forward both TCP and UDP ports for whichever port number you set.
Also check your local NIC for advance settings, we usually forget what we did last summer.
Open TCP/IP properties and go to advance=>options, make sure you do not have IP filtering enabled.
Hope this works or come back here....

try a simple client like bitlord which needs no port selection

I checked that already... everything seems to be fine. The problem is I am unable to connect to the tracker... Checking all these is secondary. If I cant connect to tracker I am pretty much hosed.

Hi krosswindz ,
Lots of solution are posted here but I think problem is something else Check if you are using Utorrent 1.5 then quickly uninstall it . because it has a lot of bug including this . try utorrent 1.4 an this must solve your problem .

Otherwise uninstall all your torrents client restart they system and then freshly install any other client that will definately work.
