What has happened? Why we have changed. Why we are not what we used to be. Is this change for good?
These question are bothering me from last many days. Winds of change blew over my beloved country and things are not what they used to be. Ah nostalgia for those days!! No i am not going to criticize girls over their short dresses. That is something i don’t mind till i have a daughter. Few days back i did quiet many journeys to Ghaziabad ( A place near Delhi) for my passport. and i think you are all aware that the train in India is the cheapest way to travel and me bring a true DESI ( read stingy) I prefer that mode of transport. In train whenever I feel like smoking I go to the toilets because it’s illegal to smoke in train. Guess the flop movie ' Burning train' terrorized some politician to the extent of banning cigarettes. Pfffff Now toilets in an Indian trains are not less than any American college. They make you aware of all the shero shayaris going round the country. Although some people who don’t appreciate art might criticize those shero shayaris as obscene and dirty but I look at them as a means to enlighten youth about current social scenario. Also the phone numbers of the girls written on the toilet wall make them quiet popular around the country. I have heard that many couples met like this and now living a happy life. BUT ALAS!! ALL GOOD THINK COMES TO AN END! I found those walls spotless. There were no inscriptions, not a single pen stroke on them. I changed the bloody train on the next stop while thinking that it was nothing but a bad dream. But lo and behold!! All the other trains I checked were the same. What has happened? Why our youth has become creatively bankrupt? Are we so involved in so called education, job hunting and grooming that we are forgetting our moral duties? I though that. What can I do? Shall I be only be a meek spectator in this cultural decay? No I won’t but haven’t had the pen. IF ONLY I HAD THE PEN! |

Well, I cant say much about America, but in Canada, so far, I havnt seen any comments on the toilet walls. I personally think this is really cheap act to write anything on the walls.
It is one of the uncivilzed things the youth has been doing from years. I am actually quite surprised that you didnt find such thing in your case. One should be proud that finally youths are getting some "akal" to not to do such cheap thing. The Burning Train was NOT a flop movie. In addition, I think smoking in toilet is not a good act. If a person really wants to smoke while being in train, he/she should smoke by standing next to the door (if it is opened) and smoke. Otherwise wait for the next station. Also I am glad you didnt have the pen, otherwise you surely would have written something there. Or may be you can say India is short of pens, thats why nobody is writing anything on the walls lol |
