Make use of the "help desk section". What connection does "Here is a taste of what I can upload as far as my favorite artist" have with the 4GB rule? Please read the rules and regulations thoroughly!

Well it means that if you made it easy for users to upload a new member could exceed the 4GB rule instead of waiting for 48 hours, which I think is a mistake. And, it was also a response to a post. I am assuming you did not like the sample and it offended you.

Plain and simple, you are making it difficult to be a member of this site. It's really a shame, because there is potential. However, it does seem that you have had some bad members which forced you to this extreme. A better rule would be to put the delay if the ratio drops below a certain level and automatic dismissal if too low. This will allow the members to seed until their ratio increases. However, in the past I have made the mistake of downloading an old torrent with no potential of getting new peers to seed. I am sure others have fallen into this trap. Life is not always fair, but there should be some happy medium where all can enjoy a P2P site.

well why do u have to start by downloading movies only? First show DCT that you are active member by seeding 4 GB then there are happy moments only. Its not hard to upload 4 GB since lot of users download music torrents. Music torrents doesnt doesnt count towards to your download.
Secondly this rule has been implemented to stop users from making duplicate ids. Dont you think it is unfair if a banned user comes back again and starts downloading without giving anything back to the community?

Well I am not trying to download a 4GB movie. I am being blocked for trying to download a book that is about 65MBs in size and I don't think that's fair. High speed up-loaders know that the first 48 hours are crucial for small sized torrents. Lastly, I agree that it is unfair if a banned user comes back again and starts downloading. However, those are security issues which are DCT related and I do not want to discuss here.

First of all please no . If you have any problems/grievances then make use of the Court Room section. Or if you want to provide suggestions use the Suggestion forum. Failure to adhere to the rules might result in a penalty for you.

Now, coming to your problem. If you carefully sift thru the pages of this particular topic then you would see very few users who have problems with the 4GB rule. All we are trying to do is getting rid of leechers who download a file and do not seed enough as a result others suffer.

Sometimes you do want to upload, but it doesn't always happen this way.

To explain this:
Say for example I downloaded "Hey Baby" movie the other day. i have finished watching that film but i have still kept it on my computer as well as on bittorrent, just so that others can upload my completed download.

My bit torrent is on throughout the day (UK time). sometimes I see that upload is there by 5kb/s to 21kb/s. But other times nobody is downloading. and it goes to 0kb/s.

So I think it is unfair to say by our ratio that we are not willing to seed. We are ofcourse willing to but what if we dont get enough downloaders. May be my movie taste is bit different to others. i like offbit films and not so popular films.

I don't know from what country people are logged in on dctorrent. But I assume most users are from India.

There surely has to some fair way here. I want to upload but i can't help it if there are no downloaders.

Please use the helpdesk section to notify us of your grievances. Also, please read this: Access denied? Banned client? Read This

Bittorent old versions are banned (in case you are using it) on DCT. Please switch to utorrent v 1.7.7.

The reason why we had introduced this rule is coz people would download torrent and then would not seed to 1:1 ratio and as a result other users would not be able to download. And now for the example you gave Heyy Babyy was released last year around Aug or so (if am not wrong) so there would be very few users who would want to download that torrent. Dowload new movie like Sunday and see how fast you would be able to seed and your ratio go up. Please try and understand that people do not have the same taste as yours so you need to understand that seeding depends on those who like that particular torrent that you downloaded.

Finally, DCT suggests to have a minimum of ratio 1.0

i agree with u...my torrent is on around 18 hours a day...and if ppl dont want to download what we are uplading then thats not our fault....but still the ratio has 2 be maintained...music torrent are good to maintain a decent ratio.

My answer is the same as I had answered for the gentleman above. Please try and understand people would not have the same taste as yours hence some torrents seed faster while others just don't. Hope this helps!

i think you are misunderstanding us.
we are not complaining about the download speed.
all we are saying is we want to upload but there is no one to download.

currently i have got ratio of 0.54, reason being i downloaded nanhe jaislmer with speed of 400-600mb/s. so it downloaded in about 5-6 hours. now i am trying to download dus kahaniya - hopefully once it is downloaded many ppl will upload it. i hope i can restore my ratio soon. but its too difficult to maintain especially if your movie taste is different.

is it true, that i can increase my ratio by music upload ?
