Default Series of Problems Ends up at svchost.exe Error.[Solved]

Hello Ppl,

As my title says, i had series of problems NO ERRORS but the problem is still there and got stuck with svchost.exe error.

Firstly i had internet problems which explains y i cud not upload for soo many days. In the Internet nortification Icon, as the internet works both the screens have lite-blue light, or Sent and Recieve Packets are working, but after a few minutes only the sent works, and the recieve is stoped, the next thing i would do is by repairing it, again it will work for few minutes and then the recieve stops. due to this i can't download or upload or even surf internet.

Secondly i called my Internet Service Provider (isp) the assit said me that i shud change my cable modem's ethernet wire, or change my cable modem, i said lemme try, so my cable modem had two options to use ethernet or USB, so there's a prob with ethernet so i installed the Cable Modem's USB Driver, and when asked for restart. I get the Error of svchost.exe.

Thirdly the error Svchost.exe comes at the start up, with two option CLICK OK TO TERMINATE APPLICATOPN or CLICK CANCEL TO DEBUGG THE APPLICATION, the first time i clicked ok as it appeared (Just Started and my Wallpaper came but no icons) nuthing happened i waited for abt 15 mintz nuthing came, so i restarted it again this time i clicked cancel, i get tht Visual Studio C++ and then some error in it, when i close VSC++, its the same my wallpaper and no icons on desktop no start menu also. and the thrid time i did nuthing kept the error as it was and still no icon and there was my wallpaper.

HERE i can't open windows, so please don't suggest me to change any setting,

I was suggested to reinstall windows over my current windows, hense no formatting needed, and formating, i guess is the universal problem solution of such errors.
If any1 can say i can transfer my data on my externet hard disk on safe mode then it ok with me, else i m in a big tension.

so Memebers of DCT help me.

My PC Config:-

Windows XP Pro SP3, P4 HT 3.04 Dual Core, 2 X HDD [1 X 250 GB SATA and 1 X 80 GB], 2 X 1 GB Ram (DDR2), Intel Motherboard.... well i guess thts needed.

My Net.... from Etisalat, Dubai - UAE. 512 KBPS (64 Kbytes/s)

Tht's it
Thanks in Advance

Svchost, which is short for "service host", is a core part of the OS that provides support to many of the required services 4 windows.

It seems like ur Svchost.eve is corrupted mayb coz of some faulty update or trojan ....
What is the exact error u are getting ... is it an application error/reference 0x745f2780 blah blah ??

i never encountered this problem b4 but what i wud suggest u wud be to boot ur PC in safe mode and run windows update and ur anti virus( waise, i doubt u wud be able to do that)

2ndly .... u said u were able to boot but u cud not see any icons .... but can u open ur task manager ??[Alt + ctl + delete] if yes then open it ... click on the new task button and do the following
Code:
Verify Windows Update Service Settings
  • Click on Start, Run and type the following command in the open box and click OK services.msc
  • Find the Automatic Updates service and double-click on it.
  • Click on the Log On Tab and make sure the "Local System Account" is selected as the logon account and the box for "allow service to interact with desktop" is UNCHECKED.
  • Under the Hardware Profile section in the Log On Tab, make sure the service is enabled.
  • On the General Tab, the Startup Type should be Automatic, if not, drop the box down and select Automatic.
  • Under "Service Status" on the General tab, the service should be Started, click the Start button enable it.
  • Repeat the steps above for the service "Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)"
Re-Register Windows Update DLLs
  • Click on Start, Run, and type CMD and click ok
  • In the black command window type the following command and press Enter REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL
  • Wait until you receive the "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" message and click OK
  • Repeat the last two steps above for each of the following commands: REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL REGSVR32 ATL.DLL REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL
Remove Corrupted Windows Update Files
  • At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter net stop WuAuServ
  • Still at the command prompt, type cd %windir% and press Enter
  • In the opened folder, type the following command and press Enter to rename the SoftwareDistribution Folder ren SoftwareDistribution SD_OLD
  • Restart the Windows Update Service by typing the following at the command prompt net start WuAuServ
  • type Exit and Press Enter to close the command prompt
Reboot Windows
  • click on Start, Shut Down, and Restart to reboot Windows XP

cool dubai this is where search helps you agar tune thora b dc pe search kia hota to teri problem solve ho chuki hoti.

go and search in tech0o-mania with

svchost.exe error

or go to my profile and look for threads started by me and you will get thread

close 2 ports in your com and your internet disconnection problem will go away

mcafee is one of the root casuse for svchosterror

its not virus its just that each application requires svchost to command them and when some illegal operation is performed by any operation svchost is closed by windows

do the search and if still you dont find thread then let me know

What kind of solution is this ???

If you dont have any solution, just dont post uselessly here... this is not a gupshup section.,., one should never-ever suggest anyone to format computer... you should help others to fix the problem not just formatting and reinstalling OS...

Acc3ss :- your method works just for my desktop to come and everything seems normal. But when i play music, open utorrent... etc each thing has errors.

SmartDecent :- Sir hume same cheez try kiya tha svchost.exe ke error ke phele, tabhi bhi same tha settin ke baad bhi same. And i always search before posting... mai kabh se DCT par hu.. Oct 2005

Guys i guess many don't use "System Restore" ..... i went on safe mode did System Restore, it gives back my same stuff, in short its like u have gone in past . Therefore One problem solved ir the svchost.exe

The internet problem remains same, i guess its time i shud buy new Cable Modem... till then i m waiting for more Internet Solutions

so u mean to say both the ports r closed?

acha tell me do u use any antivirus and if yes then what

because this prob has nothing to do with hardware.
changing modem or cable wont help

its only related to some process inside your os

can u give me list of softwares u have or can u give us screenshot of the error

when error comes click on details or logs and detailed error info

This clearing of ARP cache error occurs when Routing and Remote Services is enabled. Routing and Remote Services is almost unnnecessary and can be turned off unless you know that you are using it.disable Routing and Remote Services:
  • Click the <Start> button
  • Click the <Control Panel> button
  • Switch to "Classic View" if you are in "Category View"
  • Click <Administrative Tools>
  • Click <Computer Management>
  • Double-click <Services and Applications>
  • Double-click <Services>
  • Scroll down to <Routing and Remote Services>
  • Double-click <Routing and Remote Services>
  • Examine the "Startup Type"
  • The options are "Automatic", "Manual", and "Disabled"
  • Set the "Startup Type" to "Disabled"
  • Examine the "Service status"
  • Make sure that the service status is Stopped. If it is not Stopped, click the <Stop> button
  • Click the <OK> button
Now, try clearing the ARP cache again and it should complete with no error messages
Found it on the net .... hope it solves ur problem too
