I better ask for some help from more experianced people before I reach my 10 GB limit and I start getting warnings, bannings, and gaaliyan from you guys!

I don't think it's my Azureus that's the problem because I also tried BitTorrent and that also has the same problem. I have no NAT errors, everything is green, I am connecting to peers, I am connecting to leechers in torrents that have less seeders and more leechers, but I am still only uploading at a rate below 5 kB/s! And that's if I'm lucky, it's usually at 0. And this is happening with every torrent, even with popular ones with a ton of leechers from other torrent sites.

My download and upload speeds are set to unlimited. My downloading speed is more than fine, it can go up to around 100 kB/s.

Also, I have opened ports on both my router (linksys wireless-g broadband router WRT54GS, it's a well-known one) as well as on Window's firewall. Here's a screen capture of my router's port forwarding bellow (sorry, I don't know how to make thumbnailed links to images... if someone can tell me or edit this to make it so, please do). I'm using port 49159, as you can see. I did the Nat/Firewall test on it and it's good.

these are your stats of downloading on dc.

first you downloaded 1.37 gb of movie which is 2005 movie and released on dc approx year ago..
so how will you find leechers in it.

then you downloaded above 7gb movie which is a kind of flop and most the ppl have downloaded its 1cd rip so very few download full dvd of such a movie and since you have downloaded that amount now you will may have to keep it seeding for month to upload same amount for tht movie.
because if you find 4-5 leechers on a torrent then more than your uploading speed it depends on their downloading speeed that how fast you can upload.

would refer you to download some music torrents and seed them
and latest tv torrents which could help your cause.

try on the tv torrent which is released in current date and then check on your speed and lemme know if it works.

else it is your isp problem if you have done portforward and allowed in firewall.
check with your isp about how much speed they allow for uploading because some of them blocks the upload speed of their users.

switch to utorrent, its easier to configure . Azureus wont perform well if its not configured proper.

Start getting music torrents, & afaik its 4GB limit and not 10GB , check ur pm's u must already be warned.

That's just a movie I wanted. I didn't expect to get much upload out of it. So what should we do? Avoid anything that has few leechers? If there is something I need, I will get it before the seeders become 0. Movies like that come rarely and rarely get reseeded.

I downloaded that torrent when it was brand new and at 1 seeder with 10 leechers. Since my download speed is so high, I thought i could beat others to the punch and try to help juice some upload out of it. Also, I desperately needed that film (flop shmop, it's the best film of the month for me), so two birds in one stone. Unfortunately that failed because even though I connected to most of the leechers, my upload rate stayed at 0 and rarely went as high as 5 kB/s.p


I tried that already too. I downloaded some crap 150 MB TV torrent that I didn't want and I downloaded it fast and connected to many leechers, but again it didn't upload anything. I managed to get 1.00 ratio from it but it took a very long time and at a very low speed.

Can't be the ISP, I was uploading faster than I was downloading just a few months ago. Upload speed used to be at least 50 kb/s. I haven't changed my ISP since then.

Thanks a lot for your help, but I kind of explained some of these things already in my first post. I had already said that I tried multiple torrents, some from other sites, that had a high amount of leechers, but the speed was still next to garbage. I really need to get some idea on how to tweek my router and Azureus settings properly. Maybe I did the port forwarding wrong?

Such torrents should be touched only when u have enough buffer , so always 1st build ur ratio and then jump on old torrents

Anyways jump on muisc torrents with more leechers, start 10 odd torrents and u should have ur ratio fixed soon.

Thanks for the idea, k!ll3r, but can you refer me to any good torrents at the moment? like i said, I tried this before and it's hard enough just to find one torrent that's not too old that has more leechers and less seeders, let alone 10.

and sorry for jumping on old torrents but I've learned to not let rare things go by or you'll regret it later. I've missed out on a lot because of that.

btw, I've been downloading a torrent right now that has 3 seeders and 8 leechers, and I am connected to 3 leechers. My download is at 0 kb/s (because I slowed the download speed to 5 k/b). I checked the peers and I have way more percentage downloaded than all 3 leechers I am connected to. And still, my upload is between 0 and 2 kB/s. Does this make sense?

hmm maybe the peers download are slow or not connectable to u for some reason.

One thing isn't clarified. Do all music torrents count? Even music videos? It's next to impossible to find good mp3 music and drama torrents.

I THINK I fixed my problem! You see, I had downloaded a program a few months back that had me change my settings to static IP. You can't have UPNP on in Azureus if you have a static IP, so I got rid of the static IP. Now, at least with one file from another site, I am seeding at 30+ kB/s. Now I just need to get some good torrents going.

no download only upload counts.

plus like said 3 seeders and 8 leechers.

these 8 leechers might be having low speed of download.

and that might have been fullfilled by those who were seeding earlier than you.

azureus shows 2 things total leechers and currently active. if it is showing 8 cactive leechers it doesnot mean you are connectable to all

and second dont use bittorrent or you will end messing up your ratio further because this client is leecher and dc might not be able to trackr your stats.

better shift to utorrent and then check

plus boss i cant help you for port forwarding sitting here that you will to work out yourself or call some technical person from your isp.

good that you cleared your problem but i too have static ip and azureus is causing no harm in uploading.

Then you must have UPNP off...
check Tools --> Options --> Plug-ins --> UPNP and see if it is enabled or not.

anyways, the problem doesn't seem to be completely fixed yet. I used to get constant 30 kB/s upload and download at the same time for most files... that was just a few months ago. It's going all over the place right now. One file was uploading at 30 for a few seconds then it went down to 0 again.

I'm going to try some of my old tricks later, like restarting the computer after unplugging/replugging the router and modem. odd, but used to work.

And I did say earlier that I know that I am connected to only a few of the leechers, not all. but you're right, maybe those who I am connecting to are all slow always.

hmm lemme backtrack a bit n ask u abt some basics... where are u located and who is ur ISP? just wanna establish if there is any torrent throttling going on at ur end or not.

also do u have the latest ver of azureus with encryption turned on?
