Most ARR fans have shown their frustrations about taking out songs / instrumentals from the CD -

The issue of cutting songs and pieces from the final CD needs to be discussed (From ARR Fan Club)

"Well this upsets me greatly and as an ARR and music fan, I think I have every right to be upset. The ommissions are not ARR's fault or responsibility, I know that. I just don't understand the logic by excluding song and instrumental pieces, esp. if those pieces are appealing and will help sell the album. What is the harm??? So what if they are not shown in the film. Why not have it on the CD? Give me one good reason, anybody. I would be even more enraged if these songs and pieces are in the film and for some stupid reason not on the CD. For God's sake people, there are enough music fans out there to appreciate these things!!!!!!!!! I can't help but feel cheated and deprived, esp. after ARR worked hard on each and every piece for
the intention of THE PEOPLE to listen to!!!!!"

And they see a great money making opportunity with this soundtrack. So, they deliberately excluded some of the songs, which they would release as a collector's edition after movie's release. There has been re-releases recently in the past,

recently Race (2008) was re-released by Tips with "Khwaab Deke" song
Rahman's album Alaipayuthey (remade as Saathiya) was also re-released by Sa Re Ga Ma with extra songs.

In the case of T-Series, there was a song "Kehta Hai Babul" from movie Babul. They included Jagjit Singh's version in CD and excluded one sung by Amitabh Bachchan. In the movie they played AB's version only. Then AB's version was released in Nishabd movie's soundtrack.

and several other cases that I cant think right of my mind.

Hence, I am pretty confident in the reply made by guy above, that T-Series wont let this ooportunity to go, and will re-release CD if they dont include all the songs during first time. I think we should first wait for original release, then this talk of re-releasing lol

we should have a system of releasing the audio and the movie on the same day.if they include any extra music or songs while re-recording.that would be included in the audio too. There are many songs/music bits by ARR which were used in background score and not released on audio to date.if u listen to the audio extracted from the movie, you would have to listen to the friggin dialogues as well.

Disagree with you here. The idea of releasing audio with the movie has been experimented several times and audio has been trashed all the time. Few Rahman fans watch movies just for music and his BGM. (Yes, I have seen movies like Love Birds, Love You Hamesha etc for the sake of listening to BGM/ watch song videos and watch Tamil movies whose music is given by Rahman even though I dont understand tamil).

In the case of Rahman, movie can become hit just on the base of music ( The biggest example - Taal). Hence, it is VERY important to release music a month before the movie releases. Specially Rahman's music which takes time to grow on you. Most of the people people are excited to listen to his music and when they listen, they say naaaa its not what i expected, music is simple and average (for this reason I hate those "critics" or people who review albums on very first day of its release). You can discover his music only after hear at least 9-10th time.

Got to know that one of the song was recorded 2 weeks before, thats why audio got delayed (earlier they announced music was releasing on 1st oct, now its 17th oct)

Also, track list on AR Rahman's offical site (source) has suddently disappreaed. One wonders if they will update a new track list with missings songs or what

The Wall...I had emailed....T-Series...got a response saying the audio should b out in stores on 15th...and the new tracklist looks awesome.....
