I sorry for this Post if i step on or did not see anyone post like this....BUT...I couldn't find this anywhere on this site.
Speed downloads and Uploads in bit torrent world slightly depend on who is sending it, and what his speed is....and what your speed is. (I will use the word speed instead of bandwidth for a lay mans terms) In Bit Torrent world, we depend, on how many people are you connected to....right....like...how many leachers, seeders, and Peers. These are all connections....right! so... who cares what the other guys speed is......you should only worry about how Many people you will be connecting to. There is a Thing inside you Windows or Mac or Unix, or Linix OS....that is called..... TCPIP STACK.....and TCPIP HALF OPEN CONNECTION. You ever wonder, why IE will only allow you to download three things (at once), and wait till 1 is completed before before the 4th is started or even prompts you for it. Did you know that all OS half open TCPIP connections is based on a DIAL-UP connection Like 10 only... hmmmmm I don't know about you guys, but, I want more connections....and I mean a sh!t load. Your PC may not be tuned properly to take full advantage your full connection speed. For those with high speed connections (faster cable networks, FiOS, etc), tuning your TCP stack is necessary if you wish to fully utilise the available bandwidth (speed) in one single download. OK, now....before someone Banns me....I need permission to post an offical site of the person who created a TCPIP Stack Patch to increase the Max connection you pc can have. Once I have permission, I will post the link....or a Mod can PM me, and I wil PM back a link for approval...I can post the File if possible? Mine is set to 200 Max connections....hmmm... OK.....lets just say you all set on your connections.....now what... well....increase the Max connection on your Utorrent to Match....BUT watch out... your max upload connection must be relative to your speed (bandwidth) My ISP is giving me - 10mbit/sec down, and 1mbit/sec up. I set my Max connection to 200. 20 for uploading. I could not find this in any guide or sticky in anywhere on this site. Hope this helps someone. PS: if you have a VERY slow or cheap connection....don't hope for much....just a bit only. Take Care all... DarkNemesis Last edited by DarkNemesis; 09-19-2007 at 02:00 AM.. |

SparkelBoy, where is that Guide...
I swear, I went through entire guides, but was not able to find it. I just thought it would help some people...so I decided to post what i know. PS: Vista is working n a Dynamic TCPIP stack and IP V6 ....god know when it will hit. but I can say, Dynamic is the way right now for Vista... Personally I would like to be in control of my connections....so, I wouild like to make it stable, so , that it's just 1 less process my pc dos not have to worry about. I know a few people working onthis, but are waiting for SP1 for vista to come out which is REALLY NEEDED for Vista and Office 2007. Premium, You are awfully close to a ISND connection....is it cable or DSL. where do you live....check your ISP website for your limit....also do a speed test....who knows....it might be more... you should increase yout half open connections to 50 at least... see how it works, if not...decrease incremently till you are happy.... LOL
Sir, many people in India still live at EXCLUSIVE 128 & 256 Kbps connections. Wish one day India will see connections of 10 & 20 Mbps like u :P |
