I have a monitor with dvi which accept HD signal. But what HD codec do I need to setup my pc?
My card is not strong but I think it can play basic videos. I have nvidia fx5200 with dvi connector. I just installed it but strangely at first it was not playing any video at all, even my regular non-HD videos, such as wma, avi. My 8 year old card which I just took out 2 days ago played every single sd video. So how come this latest version model was not. However after downloading new drivers and changing many setting, I was able to play all of my videos. But i still can't view HD videos. Its is still playing HD videos as they were pictures and show me 1 image for like 5-6 second than move to next image and stay there for another 5 second. Sound is also cutting, so its hard to makeout what they are saying. It was doing that with all types of video (avi, wma) but after the driver downlaod and changed setting its only doing that with HD videos. Do I need codec fo HD videos just like we need codec for divx and avi? I am completly clueless. I know my card isn't strong but it should be able to play HD videos sicne its has the digital dvi connection. Anybody here has any experience setting up the pc to watch HD videos and trailors? I have windows xp with around 650mb of ram. |

Thanks, I did installed the pack mentioned by the first user but no help, still hd videos are cutting, freezing very badly.
I will try what k!ll3r has recommanded and post my results. Update: I did what k!ll3r said and downloded the software Surprisingly I can now hear the sound of hd video 100%clearly but only in Media player. The picture is same, freezing for 5 seconds, its like I am watching a slideshow of pics. Other players such as vlc, divx player still show same sytems as before for video and audio. I think if audio can be improved so fast with one software than so can the video but so far its not working soI am gona keep trying. Is there any other program you guys can recommand? (and wooooo, I came to check back replies on my thread and found out this new look of the forum, very nice. i specially like it because its easy on the eye with light colors.)
