Default [SolveD]Can't open programs by double clicking

Hey everyone, for some reason I'm un-able to double clik on a file or folder and open it. I can open it only by right clicking on the file and clicking on open. Is there a way to fix this? I also tried to change it to open with 1 click, but it did nothing.

Edit: When I double click on the file it's icon it fades.

check in the mouse properties in the start>settings>control panel >mouse.
change the spped and stuff and see wat happens.
else restart the pc and check if its ok.
if not then i suggest reinstall the windows that wat i usually do.
lets see wat others say.
hope this helps.

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click Folder Options

On the General tab, under Click items as follows, click the option you want.............

Okay, I tried to install something and I noticed any new program I install I can double click and open it. I tried the things you guys suggested, but it didn't work.

sometimes not being able to open files can be due to virus and different bugs
