GetMail For Hotmail

GetMail for Hotmail is an email forwarding program that started life because of the lack of a POP3 server for the Hotmail email system. If you have tried looking for a POP3 server address for Hotmail or MSN mail you'll know what I mean! From this it has evolved into a flexible email forwarding program. If you use GetMail For Hotmail with other third party POP3 tools such as FreePOPS or YPOPS you can also forward on AOL, Yahoo and many other webmail only email accounts making it the ideal tool to use for not only mass migrating all your e-mail to Gmail but also to continue forwarding on mail received in your old accounts! For those of you wishing to forward on other POP accounts I've created a list of SMTP servers that may help.

Would you like to be able to forward your free Yahoo Mail account, AOL account and Free Hotmail, MSN, Windows Live Mail account to another account or accounts of your choosing? GetMail for Hotmail is compatible with YPOPS, FreePOPS and a number of other tools that act as a POP3 proxy giving access to these email systems. If you are wanting to forward email from your Gmail account then GMail does have an option for this, however GetMail for Hotmail can be used to forward email from a GMail account.

Adsense-Alert

All it does is sit on your desktop notification area updating itself every 20 minutes with how much Adsense money you’ve made so far today. Checking Adsense earnings was something that used to take up way too much of my day so this was my way around that whole logging in etc etc process.

Besides just retrieving your earnings there are a couple of almost cool things that it does, for a start it lets you set up to 5 daily goals. When each of these is passed you can have the program pop-up a notification (like an e-mail alert), play a sound or even e-mail you with your current total. The second thing is that it allows you to join in with the Adsense Premier League. The league is a live list of Adsense earners, showing the top 10 Adsense totals at the current time. Besides being a bit of fun it’s also a great way of promoting an Adsense product if you’ve got something to push, is there a better way of proving how much you know about Adsense other than showing exactly how much you’re earning? If you do decide to join the league then you get to specify what link text and URL you want linking to (IF you make it into the top 10).

Please note that this is only for MS Windows (XP + Vista) users, if you haven’t got it already you’ll need the .net framework version 2 installed as well.

Check Mail (POP) v1.0

Easy Shred File Shredder

Why would anybody want to use a file shredder? Using some sort of Shredding Software is vitally important when it comes to privacy issues and protecting private or confidential information on a Windows PC. It is a well known fact that using the trashcan to delete files and folders does not actually remove them, instead only the reference to the file is removed and the space which those files take up is allocated as free space (can be written over). Unfortunately until the data is written over it is easy for those files to be recovered, hence the need for file shredding software. Excel Password Recovery is a free tool to help you recover lost or forgetten Excel workbook passwords. It works by trying to open the workbook with a word from a large Dictionary file (over 140,000 words). All words are lowercase by standard but the option is available to try uppercase and capitalised versions of each. Although there is no guarantee that the Excel password will be recovered it is a much quicker method than the "brute force" methods that most paid password recovery tools use. A full run through with all basic options including numbers included should take no longer than 20-25 minutes on a good home/office PC. This can be sped up by only selecting the options that apply to your password style, for example if you always type in your passwords in lowercase with a number at the end then there is no need to select the uppercase, numbers before options. Please note that this tool is only for recovering Excel workbook passwords and not VBA, Sheet or any other type of Excel password.

Most of the situations when Windows is running slower are caused by faulty driver installations.
