DVD Shrink - A FREE software to backup DVD disks !
DVD Shrink is a software application that allows you to backup your DVD disks. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disk.

DVD Shrink does not burn DVDs! The output from DVD Shrink is saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn to a DVD-R using separate burning software, such as the software provided with your DVD-R drive.

Why
Use DVD Shrink :
Most DVD titles are designed to prevent you from making copies.

The first preventative measure is encryption. Most DVD titles are encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, being able to play the resulting files. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms.

The next problem is not so easy. Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem by modifying or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD.

DVD Shrink provides two ways of shrinking your DVD disk. These are re-authoring and re-encoding. You can use one, or the other, or for maximum "shrinkage", both combined.

Rename your files

A.F.5 makes it easy to rename many files at the same time. Drag and drop your files from Microsoft® Windows® Explorer to the window of A.F.5, build new filenames and click Rename.

Here are some examples of what you can do with A.F.5:

* Add a prefix or suffix to your filenames
* Replace a string in your filenames
* Cut characters from your filenames
* Change the extension of your files
* Convert your filenames to uppercase, lowercase, first letter uppercase, ...
* Add a counter to your filenames (file01.dat, file02.dat, file03.dat, ...)
* Add a file attribute (creation date, file size, ...) to your filenames
* Import new filenames from a text file

A.F.5 offers the following easy-to-use functions to build new filenames:

* insert any strings
* extract substrings
* replace strings
* insert counters (numerical and/or alphabetical)
* insert file attributes (size, creation date, ...)
* convert to uppercase, lowercase, ...
* import filenames

A.F.5 comes with a comprehensive online help and many examples that explain how to use the rename functions.

While building new filenames, the program always gives a preview of the filenames that you will get. But the files are not renamed until you click the Rename button.

Split & Merge your files

A.F.6 splits a large file into several smaller files. Here are some examples of what you can do with A.F.6:

* You can save a file that is larger than 1,4 MB on several floppy disks.
* You can send a huge file in several e-mails to avoid problems with a too large attachment
* As a webmaster you can offer an easier download of your large files by splitting them in smaller parts.

A.F.6 displays a blue bar that represents your file. The file bar not only shows how many parts you will create, but also lets you define the size of the split files and helps splitting a file into equal sized parts.
Additionally, you can select some standard file sizes from a list (e.g. Floppy disk, CD-R, ...) or specify your own values.

When saving the split files, A.F.6 automatically adds the file sequence number to the filename of each split part.

While splitting, A.F.6 makes no changes to the data of the original file. There is no additional information, like a file-sequence-number or anything else, stored in the split files. A.F.6 works like a pair of scissors cutting a file into pieces.

This way it is possible to join the split files with a simple COPY command.
e.g. COPY /B PART1.EXE /B + PART2.EXE /B + PART3.EXE MERGE.EXE

But there is no need to type any commands at the DOS prompt. You can use A.F.7 Merge your files, that makes merging files as easy as dragging and dropping.

* Support for files larger than 2 GB.
* The recent used split file sizes are saved in the "Size of split files" list.
* Improved installation, repair and uninstallation.

Merge your files

A.F.7 merges several files into a single file.

This program makes primarily sense in combination with A.F.6 Split your files because it lets you easily restore the original file from the split files.

A.F.7 writes the data from the files in the list without any modification to the output file.

The use of A.F.7 is very easy:

1. Drag and drop the files you want to merge from Microsoft® Windows® Explorer to the file list of A.F.7.
2. Sort or rearrange the file list entries to get the files in the correct order.
3. Click Merge and specify a location and name for the merged file.
4. Now click Save and A.F.7 joins the files together.


New features in this release:

* Files added to an empty file list are sorted automatically.
* A.F.7 remembers the last used folders.
* Option to adjust the size of the filename buffer used by the Open dialog.

Digital Clock

A.F.8 is a customizable digital clock with alarm function. You can use it as a clock, reminder, countdown timer (remaining/elapsed time) or stopwatch. The alarm feature allows you to specify single and recurring events. A.F.8 reminds you with customizable pop-up windows and/or sounds. Additionally, you can use events to start external applications.

A.F.8 is skinnable - you can save your self-designed clocks as skins and switch easily between different skins. A few skins are available for download here:

To create a new skin for your clock, you only need a bitmap with the clock and a bitmap with digits. Modify the settings in A.F.8's Preferences dialog box and then save your settings as a new skin.

What is iTALC?
