ppl i need ur help...my laptop cd drive is nt workin nd my xp is corrupted ...i need to format and install a fresh copy of windows xp on my computer... is der ny way to do this thru my 2 gb pen drive...plz help me in this concern

First check that your motherboard supports booting from a usb device in your bois, under the start up order. Copy the windows cd to the drive, and startup with usb in the boot order before hdd, the drive may boot all on it's own. If that doesn't work, you will need to create a boot disk with command.com and dos usb drivers to load the 16 bit installer located in the i386 folder on the drive.

Thats is what I would say too. In Addition I am not sure if you wana back up your data or not if you do you can use litexp or livexp to back up your data google live xp or any other live os cd and back up your data.

Why dont u simply use a Windows XP CD.. all XP CD's are bootable..
Any specific purpose for using a pen drive?

my cd rom is not working thts y ?using a bootable cd is very convenient but i can t do it....

the most important thing is that your motherboard should be able to support it ...

if it does, then you can use any search engine for guides ... otherwise do this:

try making another partition ->
get windows xp from a torrent ->
place all the files on the new partition ->
run setup ->
this way windows installation will be faster than normal and it will use the new partition for caching ...
